Doesn’t matter where you are a resident.
The customs fee for importing a car is 22% of the “determined value”, and that value is determined by Ukrainian customs on entry.
You will also pay inspection fees to make sure the car meets Ukrainian “standards”, and pay for any upgrades/modifications to the car to meet those standards. Plus the fee to license it there.
Shipping will cost roughly $2000-4000.
In the case of a new car, I have found that it is reasonable to estimate 50% of the cost to transport and certify a car in Ukraine.
Considering the import costs, it is cheaper to buy a car in Ukraine – you can buy a new Ukrainian car for $8000 and up (average $12,000-14,000), or a used car for much less.
You can find shipping information from international car shippers online, but customs/certification information you will not find.
