how much does it cost?

to ship a car from Europe to the USA, and what is a company that does do this?

Should lorry drivers from other countries be band on our roads?

Today my brother got driven into by a lorry driver from another country. He drove into the back of my bothers car and if someone had been in the passenger side they would have died. This lorry driver didnt know uk driving rules. Why are these dangerous drivers allowed on the roads? He has probably been driving all through europe.
good point about imports – but cant they be passed onto other people once here?

how much truth to tell car insurers to get prices down and be safe?

can they check if i really keep my car in a garage, how many miles i drive yearly, if this has an alarm etc ?

i did not drive in uk before so not sure if they can check my history in europe (how many years without claims, etc)

What race tracks are open to the public that I can drive my own car on?

We will have a Porsche 911 at our disposal for 1 week in Europe (starting in Germany – no UK) and are experienced track drivers in the U.S. We want to take laps at speed of tracks that permit it.

How many people need a car transported in the next few months?

In the uk and Europe?
OR NEED IT TRANSPORTED IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS OR WEEK?

Where can I get car insurance so I can drive abroad?

My insurance is in Southern Ireland, but I want to drive within Europe without being told my insurance will only cover ‘x’ amount of weeks/months. I’ve heard there’s a ‘farmers insurance’ type policy. Does anyone know what I can do please?

Thank you all in advance for your replies.
It is the length of time whilst abroad that is my concern. If I want to stay abroad with my car 6 months – 2 years, who will cover me insurance wise?

What do you think of this new BMW 3 series?

It’s called the 320d SE Efficient Dynamics and does 68.9mpg (combined), has 163hp and 265lb/ft torque. 0-62mph takes 8.2secs. Impressive? I think so.

Here’s the official BMW link with a picture:

If you’re in the USA or anywhere else not in Europe, do you think this car would sell where you are? Would you buy one if you were looking for a bmw 3 series or similar? Yes – maybe they would have to make a few modifications for US regulations, but just assume that could be easily done. And it’s only available as a manual… although BMW do have an 8 speed auto coming soon that works with stop start technology.

just interested in other people’s thoughts really. I think it’s really impressive how much they have improved both power and fuel economy over the last decade. 9 years ago the 320d only managed 136bhp and 49.6mpg, so they’ve gained 25bhp and almost 20mpg, as well as the car being a little bigger.
I disagree about the C-Class, looking at their NCAP crash test scores, they’re pretty similar on safety. And its not cheaper either, compared to the standard 320d se, an equivalent model would be a c220 cdi blueff. elegance, which costs about the same (www.whatcar.com target price) and is less powerful, slower to 60, and rated a worse car overall. If you pay an extra £1000 you can get the C250, which is more powerful and faster but more expensive.

Riding on a CBT in Europe?

Hi, I am thinking about getting a CBT licence and would like to do some riding abroad after this, in Europe (France etc). I have a full (car) drivers licence and international driving permit already. Is this possible? Or do I need to get the full motorbiking licence? (I’m 22 if that makes a difference).

Cheers, Si

Would you pay more or less if the perfect car was made in the US or Europe?

Imagine the perfect supercar. How much more (or less) would you pay if it was made in the US instead of Europe. Bear in mind that most supercars are made in Europe but bought by Americans – would American-made supercars sell easier?
Yeah, real supercars are partially made by hand, which is why Chinese supercars will never ‘really’ sell.

I know that in the US, the only real supercar (ford GT) totally sold out, yet there are so few supercar manufacturers. I remember that Ferrari said that something like 70% of their cars go to the US…so why don’t Americans use some of their outrageous fortune to make their own supercars???
AGAAINN… I said the perfect supercar! Whether made in the US or Europe it would be the same because its ‘perfect’. The only difference is the origin.
To the people that think that origin doesn’t matter.. well.. would you ever pay $1000 for a watch made in China? Hell no. What I’m wondering is the US and Europe are countries that produce the best of the best. But the very best tends to come from Europe… I’m just wondering if the best was made in the US, would they sell?

How old do you have to be to drive abroad?
